Taster Day 2018

Taster day 2018

On Sunday 20th of May, we will be running a taster session at Kingsdown School, before rehearsals start for our upcoming show at the Wyvern theatre in November 2018.

Anyone who wants to be in the show or is interested in finding out what gangshow is all about should head to our taster session to see what it’s all about. If you have a spare hour, come along and see what all the fuss is about.

The taster session is open to cubs and brownies and older, but be aware that our main show is open to members of Swindon North & Ridgeway Scouting Districts and Wiltshire North Guiding County who will be 8 or older at the in November 2018.

Register for the taster day here.

Everyone is invited to our main session from 2:30 – 3:30pm, where we’ll start with some warm ups and then move on to learning some singing and movement to one of the songs from our upcoming show.

We will also be running optional 20 minute showcase slots before and after the main session for you to show off your talents that we can use in the show. Take the opportunity to let us know how well you sing, show off a prepared dance routine or demo your acting skills.

Register for the taster day here.

If you can’t make the taster day and still want to get info about our next show, you can still fill in the form – just select the appropriate option!

Full details on the rehearsal schedule will be available at the taster day. We will have 3 singing rehearsals before the summer holidays on Sunday afternoons on the 24th June, 1st & 8th of July. We will then start back in Sunday afternoons from September 9th running through to the show.

EVEREST and the Seven Summits

Be Heard

We’ll be putting together a Gangshow choir to perform Carols & Christmas songs. There will be mix of group songs and possibility of solos & small groups to sing. This will be open to all members from our supporting districts of Swindon North & Ridgeway Scouts and Wiltshire North Guiding who are 8 years or older. If you’ve never been part of the show before this is a great opportunity to get involved!

Be Part

We’d also challenging groups in the district to make performing arts part of their programme in Autumn 2017 and contribute their own items, which we will intersperse throughout the evening. This might be, a sketch or skit, a song, a traditional Nativity, a dance or a musical performance and can involve your whole section, a small group or an individual. This is an opportunity to showcase the talent we have in our supporting districts.

If you are interested in finding out more about having your group or section contribute an item for the Christmas Concert then please register your interest here.

Please note that you are not committing to being part of the show, just that you would like more information!
