Everyone is invited to our main session from 2:30 – 3:30pm, where we’ll start with some warm ups and then move on to learning some singing and movement to one of the songs from our upcoming show.
We will also be running optional 20 minute showcase slots before and after the main session for you to show off your talents that we can use in the show. Take the opportunity to let us know how well you sing, show off a prepared dance routine or demo your acting skills.

It would be fantastic if your whole group showed up with leaders in tow, but its not required. If you have young people interested in taking part then they will be looked after by the production team as well as the Scout and Guide leaders in the choir.
We’re asking the choir to provide their own outfit for the performance that consists of:

This year marks 100 years since the end of the First World War and at the start on November the centenary commemoration services were in the forefront of peoples minds. To honour this event, we have included a special item in our show that features songs from the Great War.
To tie in with this, and because of the excellent work they do, we are pleased to announce that our 2018 supported charity is Scotty’s Little Soldiers.

Scotty’s Little Soldiers is a charity dedicated to supporting children & young people who have lost a parent whilst serving in the British Armed Forces.
To help raise funds there will be a bucket collection and where the our audience members to donate what they can. Additionally, Scotty’s Little Soldiers will have a stall in the foyer of the theatre where they will be selling merchandise and you can find out more about the services they provide children who’s lives have been affected by war.
You can read more about the work they and how your donations will be spent on their website:

In 2017, we tried something different. We put a call out to find musicians from our districts to see if we could form a band to play during the show. And from that Scouting for Noise was born.

The item was so successful, we are looking to do the same for the 2018.

The first rehearsal for Swindon Gang Show 2018 is in the books. On the most glorious summers’ Sunday, the cast and production team got started by having our first sing through of the songs from our All Cast items.
We started the day with 82 cast members registered, and had a few walk ins which put us at over 90 cast!
Next week we’ll be starting on the songs for the age group items as well as recapping everything from week 1.
If you missed week 1, it’s not too late to get involved with our 2018 show. You can view all the dates here, and sign up to be part of the cast using the link below.

It takes over £20,000 to put on Swindon Gangshow to cover the costs of rehearsals space, costumes, musicians, and theatre hire. As with all Scouting and Guiding events, we ask all the cast members to pay a subscription to help cover some of these costs.
We recognise that often there are several members from the same family in the show, and so we are offering a discounted rate for each additional family member to make the cost more manageable.
If you have any problems with meeting the payment schedule, then please get in touch with the production team. Don’t let this be a blocker to being in the show!
New for the 2018 show! If you introduce someone to the show who was not in the cast for our last Wyvern show then you both receive a £5 discount.
The person you introduce can be someone from your family, like a younger brother or sister, or a friend from your group. They can even be someone who has done Gangshows before 2017 and wants to come back.
