Calling All Scout & Guide Groups!

Swindon Gang Show is back at the Wyvern theatre on May 2020. We have a cast, crew and backstage team made up of over 100 members of Scouting and Guiding but there is still another way you can take part.

We are challenging all the groups and units in Swindon North, Ridgeway and Wiltshire North Guiding to make a short video that will be shown during the opening of the 2020 show.

The videos need to inspired by the Children in Need Music Video for Is This the Way to Amarillo. This could include the marching, clapping along to the “sha la la la la la la’s” or anything you think will work. Videos can be at your unit nights, or out and about at any activities you might be doing like hiking, climbing, canoeing & caving.

If you want some music to inpire you, you can get the mp3 backing track here.

Videos should ideally be:

  • Filmed in HD resolution or higher – most modern smart phones will do this
  • Filmed in landscape so it translates better to the big screen
  • between 10 and 30 seconds long

If you have lots of ideas you can submit multiple videos as long as they look different and/or involve differe people. For example you could let each patrol do their own video, or you can submit videos of your whole unit from different activities.

All videos will have the sound removed and edited into a montage synchronized with the music. The videos will be shown in a public theatre so only submit content that can be shown in this manner. Please note that no individual names will be included in the video, but we may add text to identify the name of the Group or unit who have contributed.

Once completed, please submit video to: amarillo@swindongangshow.org by April 30th to allow us to edit them in time for use in the show.
