A Note from the Chair….

I thought now is the right time to update you with some details about our ‘Show’.

Firstly thank-you to all of you, Cast and Production Team for what looks and sounds to be a great show coming together. The tickets are now on sale, so please get as many of your friends and family to come along to see the show.

It costs around £25,000 for us to put on the show at the Wyvern Theatre. We can only do this with your help. Our biggest fundraiser is our ‘600 Club’ We sell numbers from 1 to 600 at £1 each. The draw will take place on Sunday 19th March during the rehearsal. The 1st Prize is £50, 2nd Prize is £30 and 3rd Prize is £20. Please can you take a sheet of numbers to sell to your friends and family. I will be in the school entrance on Sunday.

Another way we raise funds is by selling dedication panels in our program so that you can wish a member of cast ‘all the best’ These panels cost £5 for a single or £10 if you want a larger one. Please find the details here, and paper copies will be available at rehearsal.

If you run a business locally and would like to advertise in our program I have attached details here. The cost of this is £25 to £120, depending on size and colour.

Finally we run a raffle during our time at the theatre. If you have any items you would like to donate please bring them along over the next few weeks.

Many Thanks to you all in anticipation of your help.

Fund-raise or Die – The Importance of Fundraising

If you are a cast member, a parent or guardian of cast member or a volunteer who helps out at the show then it’s likely that you will have heard us asking for help with fundraising. We ask for people to go to bag packs, we ask for people to volunteer for jobs at Lydiard fireworks, we ask for raffle donations for show week to name a few.

And it’s possible that you might be wondering why? Each cast member currently pays £30 to be in the show, and we sell tickets for the show. So why do need to raise more funds? Well the answer, as you might expect, is pretty simple; putting on the show costs more than we bring in fees and ticket sales.

Let’s take a look some numbers to understand where the money is spent.
